The Zoey and Sassafras series is a wonderful book series that introduces children to various scientific concepts, and how to conduct scientific studies with the scientific method! Created by a former science teacher, children will delight in this fun and fantastical series while learning. Check out these other books in the series, available to the Morales Reed Public Library!
Create a Magical Glowing Picture!
You can make a glowing picture just like the photograph found in Dragons and Marshmallows! All it takes is a little bit of science!
- Grab some paper and draw any magical creature with a yellow or green highlighter (or both!)
- Use watercolors to paint the background. To hide your creature, use blue and green. Be careful not to completely paint over your magical creature!
- Lay your drawing flat to dry.
- We'll use a blacklight to reveal the magical glow!
