But this is a cautionary tale, because the boy will learn the one ingredient to never feed a dragon!

Introduction Activity: Learning about dragons

Dragons are creatures of mythology, which is a fancy word for stories. Stories about Dragons have been
around for a very long time and there are many different types of dragons; water dragons, flying dragons,
land dragons. Also, in these stories some dragons had powers like, breathing fire or ice!
In stories dragons sometimes looked like big lizards or snakes, with scales on its body and a long tail;
some have wings, some had two legs and others had four and some had fins.

Do you know if Dragons live today? The answer is yes!
There are a few species of real-life dragons, like the Komodo Dragon.
Komodo Dragon:

The Komodo dragon is a type of lizard that is from Indonesia. These are lizards that very big and almost
look like an alligator! They have very sharp teeth and a forked tongue!

Next is the Flying Dragon (Draco):
The Flying Dragon or Draco is a gliding lizard, which means it can fly! The lizards have little wing-like
flaps called the patagia, that they can open and close to glide through the air, like a kite and looks like
they fly (Davies, 2015).
2.       Gliding Lizard.

Then there are Dragonets:
Dragonets are a type of fish. These fishes have very big dorsal fins (which run on the fish’s back or
top side), that look like the fish have wings.
3.       Two Dragonets.

And last is the Seadragon:
These dragons are fish and are related to sea horses. These dragons look a lot like seahorses but have a longer body that makes them look like a dragon, they are also very colorful.

Concluding Activity: Paper Tacos for Taco Party

A taco party without tacos is not a taco party!
To make our tacos, we will gather our paper ingredients
  • Yellow circle - tortilla
  • Brown paper balls - meat
  • Green strips of paper - lettuce
  • Red squares - tomatoes
  • Orange small rectangles - cheese
Then we will assemble our tacos.
Fold the yellow circle in half and then fill it with your ingredients. Using glue to help our large ingredients, the meat balls, stick to the tortilla helps keep all our ingredients in the taco.

For our final step, have fun! Enjoy sharing your paper taco with your friends, dragons or humans.
